Each has an FX level control, a Balance knob (for the stereo image) and a volume control. Samson have provided the MXP124FX with full-fledged microphone channels with high headroom and low noise, as well as four stereo channels. You can control the output volumes with four high-quality faders. Two compressors can be used to eliminate annoying volume peaks on channel 1 and 2. Fine-tune the input volume with the gain knobs and suppress any possible bass sounds in vocal signals with the High Pass knobs (HPF). Just like the MXP124, the MXP124FX MixPad features four XLR/jack channels with high-quality preamps to which you can connect dynamic microphones or sensitive condenser microphones (made possible by means of the built-in phantom power supply). Furthermore, you can send the complete stereo mix to a recording program on your PC via USB, and you can stream sound from a computer to the MXP124FX. The volume of the current effect can be adjusted per mono or stereo channel. Select your desired effect with the Select rotary knob, which allows you to choose from various sorts of echo, chorus and reverb. It is almost identical to the MXP124, but is also equipped with 99 digital effects and a practical USB in/output. This extraordinarily complete mixer is called the Samson MXP124FX MixPad.
